Once a month Pete and I go into Austin for a date night. We make a reservation for a restaurant 

and sometimes a bar or speakeasy we haven't been to before. Since we live a ways out of town,

we most often will book a room at a hotel, get up the next morning and go explore somewhere new, a park, or a trail and go for a walk. Then we stop in for breakfast or brunch before heading home. This monthly ritual has turned into something we really look forward to, we love the hunt, we read the menus and the reviews. Sometimes we meet our friends for a dinner out, sometimes it's just the two of us, sometimes we make new friends along the way on these little adventures. Anywhoo, many have asked for our list, here is an updated version. As expected, not all have been winners and therefore not included here. Almost all of these require a reservation however, it is not unheard of to drop in occasionally and find an open table.
