A Second Chance At Love

Kelly Vega

I met Peter on a dating app in late Spring of 2015. He was widowed, I was divorced, we each had three kiddos from our previous marriages. We quickly fell in love as we bonded over a shared vision that was in alignment with our individual values, goals and aspirations. We married in March of 2018 on the most perfect Spring day in the most beautiful little ceremony surrounded by our closest friends and family. It was pure magic..

One of my favorite memories from the ceremony was when at the exact moment my Dad, who was officiating, mentioned Peter's Dad's name in memorial, the trees above us ever so gently rustled in the breeze and the leaves floated down around us as if to say, 'Son, I am proud of you and this union is good'. The entire congregation felt it, as if Frank Sr. was right there with us, it was such an incredible and moving moment.

In planning the wedding, we asked the kids what they wanted and their number one, resounding and unanimous request was for an awesome dance party, so that's exactly what we had. We danced the night away to all the classics, old and new. A new bond was formed on that dance floor as two families two-stepped their way to form one. I married the love of my life and ALL OAK was born on March 17, 2018, and everyday there after would be our happily ever after.
